Some Cold Weather Skin Care

Hello everyone and welcome to my second blog post! It’s hard to believe that it is October already – it’s practically Christmas. As we are coming into the colder months, I’m sure a lot of you have noticed changes in your skin – I know I have!

As the winter chill sets in, you need to adapt your skincare. The air will be cold and harsh, stripping moisture from your skin. Keeping it well hydrated is key to keeping a ‘dewy’ complexion. This may of course be common sense for some but the only way to truly achieve this is investing in good products – moisturisers, exfoliators and a good serum!

The products I’ll be suggesting today are from the number 1 Italian skincare brand, Dibi Milano.

Hydrate Your Skin!

Dibi Milano have several rich moisturisers which are perfect for this time of year including the Hydra Perfection Extreme Moisturising Cream. It will quench the thirst of your skin and works deep into the dermis to hydrate and give your skin a radiant look! It is also great as a little goes a long way with this product, there’s no need for a huge dollop, a small bit will do!

Exfoliation – out with the old and in with the new!

When your skin dries out, the natural removal process of old skin cells and other debris slows down. This in turn leaves you with a dull complexion as well as blocked pores which lead to spots and blackheads. The solution to this is a gentle exfoliator to get rid of the unhealthy layer on top and reveal the fresh skin underneath!

Exfoliation also helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles and increases the turnover of cells which encourages new skin cells to keep the elasticity of the skin. It also allows your skin to absorb your skincare products better – exfoliation is a winner when it comes to getting glowy skin!

I would recommend Dibi’s Acid Infusion Peeling Night Cream – it works while you sleep to decrease the dead skin cells and keeps the skin balanced. It also contains an antioxidant (Vitamin E), pyruvic acid (exfoliant) and Allantoin (soothing). You’ll be seeing a difference in no time!

Serums

Now, onto serums. Some of you may not know what a serum does, never mind why you should be using it! A serum should be applied after cleansing and before moisturing. They are designed to deliver active hydrating ingredients directly to the skin. The also have nutrients and calming ingredients which help signs of aging and they help revitalise the skin.

They are great for the chilly weather as they’ll help prevent the skin becoming dry and irritated. I recommend the Dibi Milano Hydra Perfection Extreme Moisturisation Concentrate With Hyaluronic Acid – I know, it’s a bit of a mouthful but so worth the investment! It is designed to quench thirsty skin and leave it radiant.

Protect against the sun

I know it’s cold and cloudy outside but you still need to use broad spectrum UV protection (aka suncream) to prevent sun damage to your skin. Dermatologists also believe that light coming from screens and bright lights that you would find in some buildings can harm your skin, so even if you’re not out on a winter walk, it is still important to take UV protection seriously during the winter.

And finally…

Face Wipes

Get those things away from your face! I know they’re handy but not only are they bad for the planet but they’re also bad for your skin. They take away the moisture so opt for a gentle cleanser instead. I’d recommend something like Dibi’s Face Perfection Nourishing Cleansing Milk, it is perfect for this time of year as it is a soft cleanser and is great for removing make-up.

So there’s my few words of skincare wisdom to keep your skin looking it’s best in these upcoming winter months! If you have any questions about any of the products I’ve mentioned above, don’t be afraid to comment below and I’ll help as much as I can.

Until next Time!
